Citrus County commissioners agreed to consider changes to impact fees, even though there are no impact fees in effect right now.

Municipalities charge impact fees on new construction to help pay for things like roads and schools.

Citrus County had actually suspended its impact fees for two years with the hope of boosting growth and development. That suspension took effect at the beginning of February.

According to our partners at the Citrus County Chronicle, commissioners agreed at a workshop Tuesday to lower impact fees once the suspension ends.

They will hold a public hearing soon to discuss it again.
