A knock on the door Thursday brought a much-needed surprise for a St. Petersburg family.
Michelle Anthony and her three children have been living in a house with a leaking roof, surrounded by buckets and mold.
"It's raining in here, said Michelle’s sister, Carolyn Anthony "Mildew, it's just not safe for the kids at all."
But now that roof is getting fixed.
TB Roofing & Construction joined forces with the non-profit Pathway 2 Success to get the Anthonys a new roof.
"For every 10 roofs that we sell retail or residentially, we're going to be giving one back," said Lincoln Sziranko with TB Roofing & Construction. "We all feel blessed to have what we have now and to give back as much as we can. I mean, that's the real point in life."
TB Roofing is donating services and supplies, while Pathway is making repairs inside the home.
"We rehab older homes and we were brought to this house and we saw the issue," said Christopher Jackson, who is with Pathway 2 Success. "We definitely got on the plan to get it done."
Another non-profit, Moving Forward with a Purpose, is also helping out, cleaning the house inside and out.
Anthony said she is grateful for all of the generosity.
“This is a blessing."
