The creators of an assistance app are helping the visually impaired in Tampa Bay see the way.

Daily tasks aren’t always easy for Jessica Tomlinson.

She makes it seem easy, but every step is calculated, and every move is specific.

That’s because she was born partially blind.

“I can read large print when I hold it close to my face, and I have enough vision to see furniture and large objects when I walk into a room,” said Jessica Tomlinson, nearly blind.

Now thanks to the app “Be My Eyes” Jessica Tomlinson and others just like her have a chance for life to be a little easier.

“It’s truly mind blowing because technology moves at such a quick rate and all the time it gets better and better.”

This is how the app works.

The user logs in, “Be My Eyes” connects that person with a sighted helper.

The helper can see what the customer can't so that way they can complete the task together.

“I personally feel very fortunate to be born in the time that I was so that I can be experiencing all of the technological developments.

They are developments that are changing lives like Jessica’s.

The app is available for download on the iTunes app store for free.
