A call about a domestic disturbance led deputies to discover a methamphetamine lab in a Hernando home.

According to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a house on North Pearl Point on Saturday to investigate a call about a domestic disturbance.

While they were at the home, they saw several items they said were consistent with a meth lab, so they called the Tactical Impact Unit to conducted an extensive search of the home and property.

Investigators said they found a red phosphorous cook, which they described as the most dangerous method of making meth.

During the search, investigators said they also found a large amount of methamphetamine oil, chemicals and other hazardous waste. The amount of meth oil they found exceeds the level needed for the trafficking amount, officials said.

As a result of the discovery, deputies arrested Abram Carver, 38, on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a listed chemical and possession of paraphernalia.
