The Polk County Clerk of the Circuit Court will hold special hours Saturday for passport services.

Clerk Stacy Butterfield said the special hours aim to accommodate people who are getting ready to travel over the summer.

“We experience an increase in passport applications during the spring as people prepare for summer travel,” she said. "We know it can be difficult for customers to squeeze in time during the work week to apply for a passport, so these Saturday openings provide customers a convenient opportunity to do so.”

The Clerk's Lakeland and Northeast offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Lakeland office is located at 930 E. Parker St. and the Northeast office is located at 3425 Lake Alfred Road in Winter Haven.

Passport photos will also be available for $10.70.

Officials suggest people who want to obtain passport services that day take the following steps:

  • Visit polkcountyclerk.net to review passport application requirements, required documentation and fees.
  • Passport application forms are available at travel.state.gov. You can complete the application in advance (only using black ink) but do not sign it until you are in front of a clerk.
  • Bring a checkbook and cash or a credit card, proof of citizenship and identification. If you are requesting overnight shipping, bring an overnight stamp with the application.

The clerk's office will not be serving customers by phone during the events, so please call ahead of time with questions.

Passport services and photos are also available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at the clerk's offices in Bartow, Lakeland and Winter Haven.
