Aspirin and stroke patients

People who take aspirin for its blood thinning benefits may find that overtime its effectiveness can diminish.

Doctors say it’s true that aspirin can lead to smaller and less severe strokes by reducing the amount of platelets that clump together to form a clot.

But doctors also stress your body can develop an aspirin resistance and that could play a major role in determining the severity of a stroke.

Stress and pregnancy

It's important for expecting moms to manage their stress levels.

Experts say it’s not exactly clear how stress affects the fetus but some studies show that stress can increase your risk of a smaller baby and pre-term labor. Experts say you can manage stress in a variety of ways.

“A couple of things that can help you know relaxation techniques maybe that's a hot cup of tea or a warm bath or learning true breathing techniques that can help you,” said Dr. Sujatha Reddy, M.D Premier Care for Women.

One of the best things you can do is take time for yourself. For example, go to a movie, go for a walk, or just find a quiet place to get away. And don't be afraid to ask for help.
