The New Port Richey fire chief is leaving the department after 26 years.
According to our partners at the Tampa Bay Times, the last day for fire chief Alex Onishenko is tomorrow. He's accepted a new position as fire marshal for the East Manatee Fire Rescue District.
City manager Debbie Manns said she will appoint assistant fire chief Tim Exline as the interim chief. That's while she embarks on a national search for a permanent replacement.
