Repairs are still being done at Sunset Grill after a boat crashed through the building earlier this week, but the restaurant reopened for business Saturday morning.

A 39-foot-long SeaVee boat crashed into the waterfront restaurant Monday, Feb. 23. People on the boat suffered minor injuries.

Investigators said it was foggy out, and the boaters were unfamiliar with the area. The boat hit the lounge, damaging an office and a roof to the building.

SERVPRO workers have been busy repairing the building, and customers were already back enjoying the food this weekend.

That's good news for the manager and chef.

"It looks like we're going to be a couple of before we get things back before the accident condition," said Robert Arias, the general manager of the restaurant. "However, we are able to open the doors, and we are really excited to invite people back (in)."

Will Rinaldi, the head chef, added: "We had a lot of cleanup and a lot of mess that I had no idea what was going to happen. The roof's gone, the whole office is gone, but we just got some really great seafood delivered from a boat that stopped right over here, so other than that, we're super excited."

The restaurant is still under some construction, but that doesn't seem to be deterring customers from returning as the rest of the cleanup continues.

No one inside the restaurant was injured when the boat came crashing into the building.
