The Florida Highway Patrol is trying to locate the son of an Spring Hill man killed in a traffic crash.

John C. Canna, 28, was killed Wednesday when his motorcycle crashed into a vehicle in Spring Hill, troopers said.

After Canna's mother was notified, authorities discovered Canna's 13-year-old son, Jonathan could not be located. John C. Canna's mother, who lives in Pinellas County, has joint custody of the teen with her son.

The teen mother's lives out of state, authorities said.

Law enforcement agencies in Pinellas and Hernando counties also are searching for the teen.

Troopers said Canna was killed when his 2003 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle collided with a Lincoln MKZ sedan making a left turn in a parking lot near Spring Hill Drive and Mariner Boulevard.

The driver of the Lincoln, Jesse Sanchez, 81, of Spring Hill, suffered minor injuries. Charges are pending in the crash.

Authorities are asking that anyone with information concerning the missing teen to contact the FHP at (850) 617-2000 or their local law enforcement agency. Canna has been entered into law enforcement databases as missing.
