A 46-year-old man died Saturday night after losing control of his roadster on Keene Road in Largo and veering into oncoming traffic, police said.
Joao Manuel Cavaco, 45, was driving a 2002 Honda S2000 south on Keene around 7:10 p.m. when he crossed into the northbound lanes. He was struck in the driver's side door by a 2013 Nissan Sentra, according to Largo police.
Cavaco was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where he died.
The driver of the Nissan, Kevin Cowley, 44, and his daughter, Kansas Cowley, 19, were also taken to Morton Plant with serious injuries. Both are expected to recover, police said.
