A Dade City man was found dead early Friday morning after troopers said he crashed his motorcycle.

Daniel Deveau, 28, was riding his 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle west on State Road 52 near McKendree Road sometime during the overnight hours when he lost control of his bike, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle left the road and traveled onto the grass shoulder, then collided with a barbed wire fence, overturned and came to rest in a pasture next to the highway, troopers said.

Deveau was thrown from the motorcycle, then died from injuries he received in the crash. His body was not found until 7:15 a.m.

Troopers said Deveau was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
