A Bay area couple is proving that you're never too old to find a great love. The two retirement home residents, who are in their 90s, tied the knot Saturday in Tampa.

Taking vows in front of friends and family, Fran Pearson and Dick Stanton will tell you they're proof you never know where life's journey will take you.

The path that led them to this point is a little longer than most newlyweds.

Dick is 95 years old, and Fran is 90.

"We get along well together; that’s the main thing,” Fran said. “We just sort of clicked. We're very much alike."A Bay area couple is proving that you're never too old to find a great love.  The two retirement home residents, who are in their 90s, tied the knot Saturday in Tampa.

"She's so active,” said Dick, “Always smiling, and just a great person."

The pair met while working at John Knox Village. Dick is treasurer, and Fran is assistant treasurer.

It started with a coffee date. Dick had overheard Fran saying she liked Starbucks lattes.

"That led to dinner, and here we are," Dick said.

Since then they’ve become best friends, doing things together like going to Busch Gardens or going for a swim.

Both are widowed. Fran had previously been married for nearly 60 years.

"She told me the first time we went out together, ‘never, never will I get married again,' ” Dick laughed.

Never say never.

When the two exchanged vows, Dick was crying happy tears. It was a happy day for a couple that’s found love and a partner in fun.

"He's always daring me to do things, that's the problem," said Fran, smiling.

The couple’s families are happy for them both.

"She's acting like a teenager in a lot of ways and that's refreshing," said the bride’s son, Jeffrey Pearson, “This is an affirmation of her future, not her past, and it takes nothing away from that. We're very happy for them both, and I know my father would be, too."

"There's life in his step that was missing before; yeah it's great,” said the groom’s son, John Stanton.

This latest adventure in life is one the couple plans to make the most of.

The newlyweds plan to go on a western Caribbean cruise for their honeymoon - after they finish their move in to an apartment together.
