The Manatee County company Bealls Inc. is announcing a whole new project, geared towards younger, and more athletic folks with money to spend.

It's been 100 years since the first Bealls opened its doors in Bradenton. Now, the company is launching a whole new chain of stores called Bunulu, reaching out to the next generation of Beall's customers.

“Bunulu it’s a new specialty concept. It's directed at a customer that’s a little different than our customer for our outlets and our department stores,” said Steve Knopik the CEO Bealls Inc.

Knopik said Bunulu is an aboriginal word that means “place for water.” The Bunulu stores will feature clothing like bathing suits, sandals, summer dresses and shorts, items geared towards more of an upper class coastal lifestyle.

Bealls Inc. is hoping to open the first Bunulu store this fall. As of now they are not giving away the location. However, they do already have their website up and running.
Bunulu.com shows what the store will look like as well as images of active people, the store's ideal customer. The future store even has a saying.

“I Bunulu? Do you Bunulu?”

Bealls Inc. is hoping to open a total of three Bunulu stores around Florida by Christmas. They are hoping one day to make it a national chain.
