Tampa will have four more years with Bob Buckhorn.

The incumbent cruised to victory in the mayoral race that was challenged only by a write-in candidate. He addressed supporters Tuesday night.

"Four years from now, this will be a different city. Four years from now that will be a different skyline. Four years from now this river will be the center of everything that we do. Four years from now our neighborhoods will be stronger," Buckhorn said.

Nearly 18,000 people voted early in the city races but that was a fraction of the 200,000 registered voters. Voter turnout was low at 12.29 percent.

Several city council races were held in Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6.

There was a winner in each of the races except one, District 6. None of those candidates won a majority of the vote. So the top two vote-getters, Jackie Toledo and Guido Maniscalco, will go to a runoff election on March 24.

In District 1, Incumbent Mike Suarez reclaimed his seat with 62 percent of the vote.

In District 2, there was no incumbent but current District 6 councilman Charlie Miranda ran for the at-large seat and won with 59 percent of the vote.

In District 3, Incumbent Yvonne Yolie Capin is coming back for another four years after garnering 73 percent of the vote.

In District 4, Incumbent Harry Cohen won with 71 percent of the vote.
