Deputies say a biker was shot in the head during a motorcycle club initiation that turned deadly.

Jeffrey Camarda, 44, of Land O' Lakes, is facing manslaughter charges in the death of Billy Lee McDaniel.

According to the Pasco Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Rock Harley Saloon Sunday night and found McDaniel, 44, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

McDaniel was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, where he died early Monday morning.

Investigators said they learned McDaniel and members of the Southern Sons Motorcycle Club were drinking in the back parking lot of the bar.

McDaniel was being initiated into the motorcycle club, and as part of his initiation he was holding a plastic bucket above his head while club members threw cups and bottles into it.

At the same time Camarda was trying to shoot the bucket from McDaniel's head, but deputies said he ended up firing and hitting McDaniel.

Camarda fled the scene after the shooting, witnesses said. He was arrested late Monday night in a parking lot near the intersection of State Road 54 and U.S. 41.

Camarda remains in the Land O' Lakes Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
