There will be plenty of sunshine in the Bay area and mild temperatures Monday.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, it will be mostly sunny today with a nice afternoon. The day began with temperatures in the 40s across Tampa Bay. Some areas north of Tampa Bay dropped into the upper 30s this morning.

"It will be beautiful today," Marquez said. "There will be plenty of sunshine, and it will be dry. We will be a few degrees warmer this afternoon than on Sunday."

High temperatures this afternoon will warm into the mid 70s. It will be cooler at the beaches with a west wind developing this afternoon.

There will be a slight rain chance into Tuesday and warming temperatures throughout the workweek.
