Gluten-free is becoming a buzz term in food circles. But is it really for everyone?

Gluten is a protein deposit found in wheat, rye and barley, and for those who have celiac disease, it can cause severe abdominal pain.

Gluten-free alternatives offer some relief for those suffering rom celiac. But there has been a growing tend of people without celiac disease cutting gluten from their diets - saying they had a gluten sensitivity.

Doctors say you should be tested before abstaining from gluten completely, because those symptoms could be from an entirely different issue.

Taxing people to better health?

Some researchers believe people will cut bad habits if taxes are added to unhealthy foods.

In Australia, they found that taxing carbonated non-diet soft drinks and fruit drinks based on quantity is more effective than a sales tax based on the price of the drink.

The more money it costs to buy a sugary drink, the less people are willing to spend on one.
