A Seminole family of four and a Pinellas County Sheriff's deputy were injured overnight when the deputy turned into the path of the family's classic car on Park Boulevard, the sheriff's office said.

Just after midnight, Deputy Matthew Ellis turned left from eastbound Park Boulevard in front of Ryan Kogelmann's westbound 1962 Ford Thunderbird at Seminole Boulevard. Ellis' Crown Victoria patrol car and the Thunderbird collided in the intersection, investigators said.

Kogelmann, 41, along with his wife, Leslie, 41, and their 5- and 12-year-old children were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Ellis was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ellis is a veteran of eiight years with the sheriff's office, according to a news release.

Neither alcohol nor speed were a factor in the crash, the sheriff's office said.
