A Crystal River man died Sunday night after he was thrown from his motorcycle, then hit by an oncoming truck.
The crash happened at 8:35 p.m. on West Riverwood Drive on U.S. 19 in Crystal River.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, David Leibert, 57, was riding his Harley Davidson north on U.S. 19 in the inside lane when he lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons.
The motorcycle traveled onto the grass median, then overturned, ejecting Leibert onto the inside lane.
Troopers say Leibert was then hit by a 2000 Ford Ranger driven by Anish Patel, 35, of Inglis.
Leibert sustained fatal injuries and expired at the scene of the crash.
