The intersection of Mariner Boulevard and Bali Lane in Spring Hill was closed for several hours overnight after a double-fatal crash.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday.

Troopers said a 2011 Infinity G37 sedan driver by 25-year-old Rahimer Mejia Travieso of Spring Hill was traveling north on Mariner Boulevard when he lost control of the vehicle.

The Infinity was on a left-hand curve when the car slid into the southbound lanes and collided with a Dodge Charger that was traveling south.

Travieso died at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge, 43-year-old Clarethia Cole, was taken to Oak Hill Hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries. Two passengers in her car, Latosha Cole, 37, and Kamari Anderson, 9, were hospitalized in serious condition.

The intersection was closed until just after 6 a.m.
