The Southwest Florida Water Management District will conduct a series of public workshops — including one in Inverness — to gather feedback about the preliminary results of 19 model scenarios for the Withlacoochee River Watershed Initiative.

These scenarios were evaluated to better understand how past or future changes could affect the Withlacoochee River and its watershed.

The public is invited to provide input at any of five scheduled regional public information workshops. Each workshop will start with an open house from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., a presentation and discussion with a panel of experts starting at 5:30 p.m. The open house continues until 7:30 p.m.

Workshops will be held at the following locations:

  • Thursday, Pasco County — Pasco High School, 36850 State Road 52, Dade City.
  • April 30, Sumter County — South Sumter High School, 706 N. Main St., Bushnell.
  • May 7, Citrus County — Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1100 W. Highland Blvd., Inverness.
  • May 13, Levy County — Yankeetown-Inglis Woman’s Club, 5 56th St., Yankeetown.
  • May 21, Hernando County — District Headquarters, 2379 Broad St., Brooksville.

The same information will be presented at each workshop.
