Afternoon temperatures will again climb into the upper 80s today, and while the chance of rain is minimal, the winds will pick up.

That'll be an important consideration for boaters and beachgoers.

"If you're heading to the beach, look out for the rip current risk," Bay News 9 meteorologist Josh Linker said. "The onshore winds will be 10 to 20 mph, and they'll remain that way through the weekend. It's not going to be terribly safe if you go out into the water."

The rain chance will stay low tomorrow, but it will pick up Monday when a front arrives and eventually stalls over the area. The rain chances climb to 30 percent Monday, 50 percent Tuesday and 60 percent Wednesday.

"After that, we'll get rid of the showers, and we'll turn in a little cooler," Linker said. "We'll see 78 for the high on Thursday and 60s for the lows on Friday."
