Showers are storms continue to move across the northern part of the Bay News 9 viewing area - mainly Citrus and Hernando counties and parts of Pasco County.

The rain will continue into the evening, and as a front drops down from the north and stalls, the entire Tampa Bay area will get rain over the next couple of days, according to Bay News 9 meteorologist Josh Linker.

"We have a very active weather scenario taking place, with warm and humid conditions out and a front just to the north," Linker said. "There have been some real nasty storms around southeastern Louisiana heading into Mississippi, and the little pieces of energy in the atmosphere that have been kicking up the thunderstorms will be running along the front over the next coupel of days.

"Each one will give us the chance for some showers and storms. We’re going to be in this weather pattern through Wednesday - at least through the first part of the day - and then the low is going to move up toward the northeast and some cooler and drier air is going to move in behind it."

The rain chance remains very high for the northern counties through the rest of day and is 80 percent tomorrow and Wednesday, Temperatures will drop around 10 degrees Thursday after the front moves out.

Friday and Saturday will offer very nice weather: highs of 79 and 83, respectively, and sunny skies.
