The trial of a Bradenton man accused of robbing several homes and then shooting a man in the head started Tuesday.

Juan Enrique Medina was a father of four and lived in East Bradenton when he was brutally murdered on Oct. 6, 2013.

Ronnie Bundrage Jr. is accused of the crime. According to police reports on Oct. 6, Bradenton Police responded to a 911 call finding Medina dead with a shot to the head.

Prior, Medina and a friend were outside when Bundrage approached them and pistol-whipped Medina’s friend. Medina tried to help and that’s when he was shot and killed.

Today, witnesses, including Bundrage’s girlfriend Latoya Martin, told their stories as Bundrages’s trial got underway.

Neighbors of Medina say that Bundrage broke into their homes before the murder.

“I noticed that there was a dark tall man with a gun,” said neighbor Omar Antonio Emigdio.

Emigdio said the accused Bundrage threatened his families and stole money.

“My entire family all of my siblings were screaming,” he said.

Then he described what he heard later.

“I heard a gunshot,” he said.

Martin confirmed that the phone found at the crime scene was Bundrige’s. The prosecutor held the cellphone up to Martin’s face. He asked whose picture was on the cellphone? She answered…
“Ronnie.”

Medina’s wife was at the trial, however, she did not wish to speak with the media in fear for her life. Bundrage’s trail will continue this week. If convicted, Bundrage will face life in prison.

Investigators reportedly found a .40-caliber bullet casing near Medina's body.40-caliber handgun case from Bundrage's home about two blocks away and a cell phone found was traced to Bundrage.
