Four to five fires likely caused by dry lightning broke out in the City of North Port Sunday, according to North Port Police. 

All but one are fully under control.

The major fire, which started in the area of Joe Wood Circle, jumped I-75 and ignited the area around N. San Mateo Dr., around 25 acres in total, according to police.

Crews believe it will be contained soon. No major structure damage was reported.

North Port Police currently have the neighborhood area closed to traffic. Units from Englewood, Nokomis, Sarasota, Charlotte, and Lee counties have responded.

I-75 is currently closed between Kings Highway and Toledo Blade.
