A multi-agency sweep mainly aimed at felons in Pinellas County resulted in more than 30 arrests Thursday.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, 32 people were taken into custody in "Operation Street Sweep," which took place throughout central Pinellas County over 12 hours.

Sheriff's deputies, along with officers from Clearwater, Largo and Pinellas Park and U.S. Marshals, targeted people with felony warrants issued during the last four years and misdemeanor warrants issued during the past two years.

Of the 32 arrests made, 31 of those with charges had a total of 35 outstanding warrants. The charges ran from attempted first-degree murder to possession of drug paraphernalia.

Three of the people targeted were already in jail, both in Florida and out of state.

Sheriff's Office officials said additional sweeps will be conducted in the future.
