A pedestrian was truck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on 30th Avenue E in Bradenton early Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The pedestrian, identified only as a male, was crossing 30th Avenue E just west of 11th Street Ct. E around 1:15 a.m. when he stepped in front of a white Crown Victoria, troopers said.

Investigators believe the pedestrian was thrown onto the vehicle and then propelled onto the westbound lane of 30th Avenue E as the hit-and-run driver continued east.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the FHP at 239-938-1800.
