UPDATE, 10 a.m.:

The officer involved, Steven Venezia, was treated and released at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. The occupants of the Jeep, Brittany Cervino, of New York, Alexis Maldonado, of New York, Clinton Hollon, of Kentucky, and Jonathan Davis, of Arkansas, were all taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where they are expected to be treated and released as well, police said. One passenger declined treatment.

Authorities said earlier that three of the four occupants in the Jeep were taken to Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, but they were in fact taken to St. Joseph's.

All lanes of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard have been reopened.

EARLIER STORY:

A Clearwater police officer and three occupants from another vehicle were injured in crash this morning that has closed the eastbound lanes of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard between U.S. 19 and McMullen Booth Road, police said.

Around 3:45 a.m., the officer was responding to a call for assistance from Tampa police and traveling east in the 2800 block of Gulf-to-Bay when a Jeep changed lanes in front of him and triggered a crash, police said.

The officer was taken to Brayfront Health St. Petersburg and the other driver was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. Two passengers from the Jeep were taken to Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. None of the injuries are life-threatening, police said.

A third passenger in the Jeep declined medical treatment.
