The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has released surveillance video of a suspect wanted for shooting three people in a robbery attempt early Tuesday morning.

Deputies said four men were waiting for a day labor vehicle just before 6 a.m. outside the En Alquiler apartments in the 11000 block of north 15th Street when an armed man approached the group.

The man pointed a gun at the group and demanded money, officials said.

At some point during the attempt robbery, the suspect fired several rounds striking three of the four men. The suspect, described as a black man about 5-foot-5 with a thin build, ran off after the shooting.

Deputies said Renan Diaz, 52, suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm. Genri Gonzalez-Cardona, 35, was shot in his left thigh and left foot and Leonardo Garcia-Nandho, 28, suffered a gunshot wound to his upper hip.

The fourth man was not injured.

The injured men were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A search for the suspect is ongoing. The suspect is described as a black male, 18-25 years old, approximately 5'05", 115lbs, thin build, and last seen wearing a black/gray shirt (possibly a button down) and light colored khaki pants.
