Two people have been arrested in connection with the home invasion that occurred in Hernando early Tuesday morning. Two people were injured.

Shawn Michael Burd, 37, and Tyler Ryan Baker, 23, both of Inglis, are currently in the Levy County Jail. 

Burd was arrested by Levy County Sheriff's Office on unrelated charges and is now being held there for warrants in Citrus County. 

Baker was arrested by Levy County Sheriff's Office without incident at his home for his warrants in Citrus County. 

Both are charged with one count home invasion & four counts aggravated battery. 

"We all worked as a team to piece together this incident - which yielded a lot of evidence against the suspects," said Lt. Brad Smith of the Major Crimes Division.  "We were able get two dangerous people off the streets in a short amount of time with the help of the Levy County Sheriff's Office."

The investigation is ongoing. On Tuesday, detectives said they didn’t believe the crime was random.
