Here's what you need to know about the Tampa Bay area's weather for today and this weekend:

  • The first half of today, Saturday and Sunday should be nice.
  • Late afternoon and evening storms will develop the next three days. The chances are higher over the weekend.
  • High temperatures will hit around 90 degrees each of the next three days.

"We still have an east breeze, and dry air remains in place for the first half of today," Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez said. "Our dew point is 62 degrees, and that's a nice change from what we usually have. We have had dew points as high as the low 70s over the last couple of weeks. When we're down here in the low 60s, we are in the comfortable range."

But moisture will move in later today and it will drive the late-day and evening showers and storms, Marquez said.

"There's a slight chance of a showers or a storm around 5 o'clock, and during the evening the chance of a few showers or a storm will be mainly from Tampa Bay to the beaches as that east wind will bring in a  rain chance," she said. "Then, those showers and storms will continue to move offshore and into the gulf tonight."
