A 55-year-old woman was hit and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning.
The accident happened shortly before 9 a.m. on Florida Avenue near Floral Avenue.
According to FHP, a driver traveling southbound on Florida Avenue in the outside travel line didn’t see Leann Garrett, who troopers say was either standing or walking on the roadway in the outside southbound lane or on the outside bicycle lane.
Garrett was transported to Tampa General Hospital where she later died.
