Florida lawmakers are set for a special session in June, but if they don't agree on a budget, we are facing a state government shutdown.

Access to state parks could be closed off, lectures at public universities could stop, and you might not be able to legally drive your car.

Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano is pleading with Tallahassee for answers about what he'll do if the Capitol's majority Republicans remain deadlocked and the government closes.
 
"We can't renew someone's auto tag if the state doesn't have their system up and running," said Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano. "And so, it's sad that when a legislature can't get their act together, it's going to be the little guy and gal who are going to pay the consequences."

The fight over Medicaid was part of the reason Florida lawmakers didn't finish their session this spring. They have until July 1 to pass a budget.
