A Weeki Wachee High senior died Wednesday, two days after she was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Pasco County.

Camille M. Headrick-Long, 18, of Weeki Wachee, was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point with critical injuries after the May 4 crash. On Wednesday afternoon, she succumbed to her injuries.

"I love her so much," said her aunt Rebecca Tinny. "Her smile could light up a room."

"She was full of love," said her mother Susan Long. "She loved everyone. She loved life."

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Headrick-Long was driving north in the outside lane of Little Road, just north of Poe Road, when she lost control of her 1995 Honda Civic.

The Civic spun off the road into the center median, where it hit several small trees. The car then hit the ditch and overturned several times.

Investigators said Headrick-Long was thrown from the Civic as it overturned. They said she was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Headrick-Long was set to graduate later this year from Weeki Wachee High School. She was a well-known athlete who competed in volleyball and track.

"She was going to go to PHCC and she wanted to become a nurse and travel," Long said.

Camille had finished all of her course work and requirements to graduate before the accident. When Weeki Wachee's principal heard the sad news, he decided to graduate Camille early to honor all of her hard work.

"She didn't get to walk down the aisle but she graduated," her mom said.

Camille was also an honor student.
