A Tampa teen was arrested after police said he crashed into a car, and then into a pool on Wednesday.

According to reports, the 17-year-old was driving when he struck another car at N. Ola Avenue and Country Club. Police said the teen was driving recklessly, and traveled through a private fence and enclosed screen before coming to rest in a backyard pool on North Otis.

The teen was able to get out of the submerged car and wait for police.

The car was removed from the pool, but the total damage of the incident is estimated to be more than $30,000.

The teen was charged with driving without a valid driver's license, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of a traffic crash with minor injuries.
