Great beneficial rains spread across the region on Tuesday as tropical moisture streamed in from the Gulf.

All areas received at least some rain, with the lowest totals being about 0.10”.  But there was a big section of the area that received 0.50 – 1.50” of steady soaking rain.

The high temperature was only 79 degrees, making it one of the coolest June 2 ever for the Tampa Bay region (10 degrees below average).

Drier air started moving in right at sunset (leading to vivid beach sunsets).

That drier air will bring the rain to an end tonight.

Wednesday will be much drier with just a few scattered storms and a return of sunshine and warmer highs in the upper 80s.
