A fire Monday morning at a Largo condominium complex was sparked by a lightning strike.

According to Largo Fire Rescue, crews responded to the Bal Harbour condos at 500 Belcher Road just before 8 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found a small fire in the attic of a building.

The building's eight units were evacuated as a precaution.

Firefighters opened a hole in the roof to ventilate the building.

Officials said there was no active flames but crews were monitoring the building for hot spots.

There were no injuries.
