A Polk County dad is still in shock after delivering his daughter on Father's Day.

Jeremy Cranor delivered his daughter Quintessence outside the Celebration Birth birthing center Sunday.

"I was like, oh my God, this is happening," said Jeremy Cranor. "I'm not prepared for this."

Their mid-wife was on her way to help, but Quintessence wasn't waiting. That forced Jeremy Cranor to spring into action while his wife, Mona Cranor, pushed on the driveway of the birthing center.

"I would love to toot my own horn and say we're going to do this, but I had to," said Jeremy Cranor. "I'm looking down at my wife, looking at this woman who is about to give birth and I'm the only one here."

"I just delivered my little girl and I'm laying there looking at the trees, pretty sure I'm getting bit by ants with a stranger pouring apple juice in my mouth," said Mona Cranor. "I was a bit overwhelmed, but just happy."

It was a whirlwind delivery that brought an 8 pound bundle of joy into the world. Mona Cranor said she only pushed three times. And while they were hoping to have a natural childbirth, they said they never anticipated a delivery like that.
