Mayor Rick Kriseman raised a rainbow flag Thursday over City Hall in St. Petersburg.

The flag was raised to honor St. Pete Pride, which is a month-long festival each June.

Pride Week will wrap up with an illuminated night parade in the historic Kenwood and Grand Central districts on Saturday.

Mayor Kriseman and Assistant Police Chief Melanie Bevan will lead the parade as Honorary Grand Marshals, and Bay News 9's Chuck Henson will be among those taking part.

A street festival will be held on Sunday.

St. Petersburg is one of 38 cities to earn a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign's 2014 Municipal Equality Index, which measures LGBT inclusiveness. Three other cities in Florida - Miami Beach, Orlando and Wilton Manors - also have perfect scores.
