A 39-year-old Lakeland woman was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in north Lakeland.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Kelly Androski was driving a 1997 Ford Escape westbound on Frontage Road South just after 5 p.m. in inclement weather when she attempted to make a U-turn near Kraft Road.

Androski's car was struck by another westbound vehicle, a 1998 Jeep Cherokee being driven by 23-year-old Jennifer Plummer of Lakeland.

Offcials said when first responders arrived they found Androski dead in her vehicle from extensive injuries suffered in the crash. Her passenger, 34-year-old Thomas Lathan was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was treated and released.

Plummer and her two passengers, 29-year-old Earl Greenlief and 7-year-old Dakota Rasner, also were taken to LRMC and treated and released.

Authorities said both drivers were wearing seat belts and that the weather was the main factor in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
