The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in Largo involving a father and son.

Detectives responded to 9244 92nd Street North just before 4 a.m.

According to detectives, a father and son were involved in a physical altercation at the residence in the overnight hours, when the father shot the son.

The son, identified as 28-year-old Michael Craig Shammos, was pronounced dead at the scene from a single gun-shot wound to the upper body.

The father, identified as 51-year-old Samuel Joseph Shammos, III was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries sustained during the altercation.

This continues to be an open and on-going investigation. No further information is available at this time.
