Datz Dough in South Tampa is no stranger to cooking their one-of-a-kind pastries while in the national spotlight.
"When we did the Cooking Channel, it was a competition so it was super serious and high stress but when we are on Thursday night, it's going to be a totally different experience," said Datz Dough General Manager Tina Contes.
When they debut on FYI’s new series, What the Fung?, you’ll get an inside look at how their sweet treats, like their buffalo trace chocolate cake, fruity pebbles and Butterfinger donuts, are made.
The Fung brothers chose Datz Dough and their key lime donut as one of the best eats in the Bay area.
"We did our key lime donut which is an original that we do here and it has key lime curd for the filling, it's a raised donut with glaze and rolled in graham cracker with cream cheese frosting,” said Contes.
As the Fung brothers continue their cross country trek looking for the best foods, they'll be taking a bit of Florida with them wherever they go.
"There's something for everyone," Contes said.
Datz isn't just celebrating the key lime donut on the show on FYI, they also want to share it with you. They'll be giving away free donuts on Friday for National Donut Day.
The episode airs on the FYI channel Thursday, June 4 at 9 p.m.
