Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting and robbery attempt at a home in Seffner.

According to authorities, the shooting happened after an early-morning confrontation over an ATV at a home at 1602 Taylor Road.

Officials said the homeowner, 35-year-old Gilben Longino Comacho, awoke to his dogs barking at 4 a.m. When he went outside to investigate, he was confronted by two suspects who ordered him to the ground.

The suspects grabbed an ATV that was parked outside the residence and began rolling it to their vehicle parked nearby. Deputies said that as the suspects left, they shot Comacho.

Comacho was rushed to Tampa General Hospital where he is currently listed in serious condition. Deputies say he is expected to survive.

The investigation is ongoing.
