An 8-year-old boy remains in serious condition after being hit by a car Tuesday in Tampa.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the boy was struck while trying to run across Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard near the Interstate 4 entrance ramp.
Troopers said the boy was walking along the roadway when he darted out into the street. Authorities said he was hit by a side mirror on a Chrysler 3000 sedan.
He was transported to Tampa General Hospital.
No charges are pending.
