A few isolated thunderstorms are forming inland, mainly over Polk County. 

These are small and moving quickly toward the east with a southwest to west wind 8-16 MPH.

What you need to know:

  • Chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms tonight
  • Low temperatures will be in the low 80s near the coast and the mid-70s inland
  • The area of high pressure moves slowly north the next couple of days

Lighter winds and afternoon sea breezes will result in scattered showers and thunderstorms with the rain chance 30 to 40 percent Thursday and Friday.

High temperatures will be slightly above normal with most of the area in the low to mid 90s.

For the Fourth of July weekend, it will be partly sunny with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms each day. The thunderstorms will be mainly in the afternoon and evening.
 
High temperatures will be slightly above normal with afternoon highs in the low to mid 90s Saturday and Sunday. Morning low temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s.
 
With the area of high pressure across north Florida, a southeast to east wind will develop with mainly afternoon and evening thunderstorms expected early next week.
