A man was struck by two vehicles and killed in northeast St. Petersburg late Tuesday night, police say.

The man, who has been identified as James G. Branyan, 61, of St. Pete, was attempting to cross Fourth Street N in the 7300 block around 11:30 p.m. According to police, he stepped into the path of a 2015 Hyundai Genesis being driven by Henry Earl Cotman, 72, and was knocked to the ground.

The driver of a Cadillac DTS, Judith Yvonne Page, 78, was not able to see the pedestrian lying in the road and also hit him, police say.

The pedestrian died at the scene. Police continue to investigate.
