Police are investigating a fatal crash in the parking lot of a Winter Haven doctor's office.
The accident happened at approximately 7:50 a.m. in the back parking lot of the Gessler Clinic, located at 635 First St., N. in Winter Haven.
Police said employee 58-year-old Kathy Wood pulled into the parking lot when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle accelerated and jumped the curb.
Police said the vehicle went through some shrubbery and struck employee 40-year-old Tammy Ellison, who had just parked her car and was walking to the clinic.
Ellison was transported to Winter Haven Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
"It’s really hard -- her not being around anymore," said Ellison's daughter Linda Yates.
Ellison's family remembers her as a great wife, mother, and caregiver.
"She was an amazing woman," said Yates. "She helped me with everything that I needed."
Police continue to investigate the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
