A man found dead in a park Sunday morning has been identified as 46-year-old Tyrone Sean Davis.

Police said they found Davis dead in Temple Crest Park located on N. 37th Street.

There aren’t many details being released about the death, only that it’s a murder.

That brings no comfort to people like John Hargrett, who took his kids to the park hours after the discovery.

“It’s surprising. They cleaned up well. I wouldn’t have known anything happened out here,” Hargrett said. “Knowing there was a dead body found here I wouldn’t be here on a Saturday night.”

The people in the quiet neighborhood said they’re used to seeing the park filled with children and their families. What they were not prepared for was seeing this same park become a murder scene.

Eboni Douthit said she’s not sure how to explain to her children that a man was killed in the park where they play.

“It’s pretty shocking to begin with especially like I said my kids do play at the park across the street,” she said. “So to have them wake me up on a Sunday morning to inform me that there’s a dead body across the street it was pretty overwhelming.”

She’s even more uncertain about how she’s going to continue to live in this neighborhood and feel safe.

Detectives are continuing to pursue leads in the investigation.
