A man was killed early Friday when he lost control of his car and crashed into the overpass wall on the northbound Interstate 75 exit to the Selmon Expressway, authorities said.
The man, who has been identified as Raymond T. Bellamy, 43, of Venice, exited from the interstate to the Brandon access ramps around 7 a.m. He lost control of his Chrysler 200, which left the roadway, traveled onto the left shoulder and crashed into the bridge structure.
The crash closed the exit ramp for an extended time Friday morning.
Bellamy died at the scene.
