Heavy showers and storms developed again in the onshore flow while a mid and upper-level low has been meandering in the eastern Gulf.

The storms went inland away from coastal areas today, allowing for some drying-out. However, high rain chances are forecast the next few days, so a new flood watch might have to be issued Friday.

A flood warning has been issued for the Little Manatee River at Wimauma from Friday morning until Monday evening.

Saturated soils and the potential for additional heavy rainfall will continue the threat of flooding in the Bay area. There will be some dry times during the day, but when the rain hits, it is likely to be heavy.

The threat of rain will continue this evening. Most of the storms got an early start and drifted inland and to the east.

The pattern will be a bit different for Friday, with the best chance of showers and storms starting in the morning as the winds will be breezy from the southwest, pushing storms eastward and inland by the mid-afternoon.

Therefore highs will be a little lower for coastal areas in the mid to upper 80s, but inland areas will still get to 90.

A front moves through the southeast toward Florida with an area of low pressure developing this weekend.
